Fabulous Lives' Shalini Passi Opens Up About Riddhima Kapoor's Wine-Spill Moment: 'Playing The Clown...'

The Netflix show 'Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives’ featured Riddhima spilling wine on Shalini and telling her to "move on."

The Netflix show 'Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives’, which premiered last month, introduced Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shalini Passi, and Kalyani Saha to viewers. A standout moment in the show featured Riddhima spilling wine on Shalini and telling her to "move on." Recalling the incident, Shalini noted that OTT culture often fuels competition and drama among women.

Shalini Passi recalls wine spilling incident

In an interview with India Today, Shalini said, “It’s not fun to sit on the beach with wine spilt all over you, especially with the wind blowing. I thought that if I got up and walked off, everyone—cast and production team included—would have to wait an hour for me to return. We were already in a different place, in Mauritius. My thoughts were for the camera team, and for the sound people. I was thinking about everyone else."

She added, “I am human and very emotional. Though I like to play the clown and have fun, over the years, I’ve realized that playing the clown comes from a very serious and secure place. My main purpose isn’t to throw a tantrum or make people feel bad for their actions, but to be effective in my life. That is my higher purpose. I don’t want to fight small battles but to win the bigger war."

Shalini Passi on OTT culture

Shalini also opened up about OTT platforms and said, “It’s very surprising. OTT culture is about attacking each other; it’s women against women. Everything is about clashing, and no one tries to bring them together because, for TRPs, they won’t. So, they told me that it was refreshing to see me, and I’m glad about that."

“I believe in focusing on yourself. If you’re giving me your time and energy, that’s your loss. We have one life to live, and it’s important not to hurt others. My one policy is to avoid hurting others. Of course, I get upset—if something is wrong, I will correct it. But I’m not going to go after anybody just to bring them down and make them feel small. That’s a tool I don’t need to use," she added.

Shalini Passi’s debut has stirred interest in her personal life. She’s married to Sanjay Passi, the chairman of Pasco Group, a top Tata Motors dealership in North India. They have a son, Robin Passi. Sanjay made a few appearances on her debut show.
