Vivek Oberoi Apologises For Violating Traffic Rules, Tweets 'Bina Helmet Ke Kat Gaya Chalaan'

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, who was fined for riding a bike without a helmet, issued an apology on social media and thanked the Mumbai Police for reminding him that safety is important.

Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi took to social media to issue an apology for violating traffic rules. The ‘Kaal’ actor, who was fined by the traffic police for riding a bike without a helmet, thanked Mumbai Police for making him realise that safety comes first. He requested his fans to stay safe and wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle. Oberoi also urged his followers to wear a face mask as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.

“Pyaar humein kis mod pe le aaya!Nikle they nayi bike par hum aur hamari jaan, bina helmet ke kat gaya chalaan!Riding without a helmet?Mumbai police will do a checkmate!Thank u @mumbaipolice for making me realise that safety is always most important. Be safe,Wear a helmet & a mask,” Vivek tweeted.

The Santacruz traffic police issued an e-challan to Vivek Oberoi for flouting the traffic norms. According to a report in PTI, an FIR was registered against the ‘PM Narendra Modi’ actor for not wearing a face mask after he posted a video of his bike ride on Valentine’s Day 2021. The B-town’s video landed him in trouble as he was seen riding a bike without a helmet and face mask.

The FIR was registered against Vivek Oberoi under various sections of the IPC including 188 and 269, a police official told PTI. The case was registered against the actor at Juhu police station under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and the Maharashtra COVID -19 Precautionary Measures 2020 Act, the report added.

The number of COVID-19 cases has witnessed a surge in Mumbai in the past few days and hence, the city administration has instructed the police to prosecute the people, who violated the rules. Both Vivek and his wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi were seen without a mask. Many fans dropped comments on the actor’s Instagram video and asked him to wear a mask while stepping out.

The traffic police imposed a fine of Rs 500 on Oberoi for not wearing a helmet while riding his Harley Davidson.

On the professional front, Vivek Oberoi was last seen in ‘Rustum’. The Kannada film co-starring Shiva Rajkumar released in June 2019.
