Vikram Bhatt on extramarital affair with Sushmita Sen: I regret cheating on my wife
NEW DELHI: Vikram Bhatt and Sushmita Sen once painted the entire Bollywood red with their love story. The filmmaker was having extramarital affair with the beauty queen which led to his separation with wife. Later on, Vikram was also in relationship with the 'Gadar' actress Ameesha Patel, reportedly for five years.
Disturbed by complications in personal life, Vikaram contemplated suicide from the balcony of his house situated on the sixth floor. Recently in an interview to HT Brunch, the 'Raaz' director opened up on his affair with Sushmita Sen and suicidal thoughts. "That was not because of Sushmita. That was because of what I’d done to my life. I had gotten divorced, my film Ghulam was yet to be released, I was only Sushmita Sen’s boyfriend, I was depressed, I missed my daughter like crazy...I had just made a mess of my life," said the director.

Before having relationship with Sushmita Sen, Vikram was enjoying marital bliss with his childhood sweetheart Aditi. "I regret hurting my wife and my child and abandoning them. I regret the pain I caused them. I always believe that when you’re not courageous, you become cunning. I did not have the courage to tell Aditi how I felt. And it was all happening together, it was a big mess," he said.
Vikram even went on to say that his love life with Sushmita and Ameesha were shallow ones. "I regret being weak at that time. Had I not been weak, things would have been different today. But when I look back in hindsight, it’s all about growing up, and everything teaches you something at least,” the director told the daily.
