Master Review: The action thriller starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi has managed to receive a positive response from the audience.

The wait is finally over! Vijay's highly anticipated flick 'Master' has hit the silver screens on Wednesday (January 13). The action thriller, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi, has received a massive response from the audience. Fans trended the hashtag #MasterFDFS after watching the first day first show of the film. Trade pundits believe 'Master' will be instrumental in reviving theatrical business in Tamil Nadu and other states as very few films have released in the cinema halls due to the COVID-19 crisis. The makers of many big budget films like '83', 'Sooryavanshi' have postponed their respective projects. The film has managed to capture the attention of the audience with its crisp storytelling and impeccable performances of the actors. Fans have not been able to control their excitement after seeing Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi in one frame. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has garnered rave reviews from both the critics and fans. Movie buffs have given thumbs up to 'Master' on social media. One user tweeted, "The terrific terrific first half of #Master . Vijay is at his best with the beast VJS. Complete package for a mass film so far, and too good. If this momentum is kept, we have a MONSTER BLOCKBUSTER on cards."

The much-awaited film also features Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Arjun Das in supporting roles. It was originally slated to hit the silver screens on April 9, 2020; however, it got delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis. The makers decided to wait for a theatrical release even when they had sold the digital rights to a leading OTT platform. 'Master' has generated a good response from the audience and trade experts are expecting the film to do well despite the 50-percent occupancy limit in many states of the country.
