New Delhi: One of the most successful action films ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ completes 3 years of its release today (January 11). Helmed by Aditya Dhar, this movie is a fictionally dramatized account of the true events of the 2016 URI attack. Starring Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina, Paresh Rawal and Kirti Kulhari in pivotal roles, this movie received high critical acclaim and is among the highest-grossing Hindi films.
As ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ completes 3 years of its release today, Vicky Kaushal shared some unseen pictures from the movie and wrote, “Forever grateful. #3yearsofUriTheSurgicalStrike”.

‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ tells the story of Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Para Special Forces, who played a major role in the 2016 URI attack. The role of Major Vihaan Singh Shergill has been illustrated on-screen by Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam portrayed the role of an undercover RAW agent, Mohit Raina played the role of Major Karan Kashyap, Kirti Kulhari illustrated the role of Flight Lieutenant Seerat Kaur and Paresh Rawal played the role of National Security Advisor Govind Bhardwaj.
Rajit Kapur, Manasi Parekh, Rajvir Chauhan, Dhairya Karwa and others played supporting roles in the movie.
Meanwhile, speaking about their upcoming movies, Vicky Kaushal will be next seen featuring in a lead role in ‘Govinda Mera Naam’, ‘The Great Indian Family’ and Laxman Utekar’s untitled upcoming movie opposite Sara Ali Khan.
Yami Gautam, on the other hand, will be seen starring in a lead role in ‘Dasvi’, ‘A Thursday’, ‘Lost’ and ‘OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2’.
