UT69 Trailer: Shilpa Shetty's Husband Raj Kundra Makes Acting Debut With His Biopic, Shows His Life Inside Jail

New Delhi: The upcoming movie 'UT69', which stars Raj Kundra, an entrepreneur and Shilpa Shetty's spouse, will release in theatres on November 3. The film's trailer released on Wednesday. It is based on his Raj's life where he plays the primary part. The movie's trailer provides a brief insight of Raj's time spent in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail as a result of his claimed involvement in a pornographic content case. Raj's arrest in 2021 is indeed mentioned in the trailer's opening 'breaking news' segment.
Raj struggles to get used to the incessant jeers from other prisoners and police officers within the jail, having previously only been known as Shilpa Shetty's spouse or a "Bigg Boss" participant. Raj, who makes his acting debut in the movie, also encounters a situation resembling a stampede at one point. The teaser also demonstrates the unanticipated friendships Raj makes while being inside the prison.
Raj was detained in July 2021 on suspicion of making pornographic recordings, and in September of that same year, he was given bail. He was charged with violating pertinent provisions of the Information Technology Act, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention Act), and the Indian Penal Code.
Along with the trailer on YouTube, the makers wrote, "UT69 takes a satirical look into the real-life incidents of businessman Raj Kundra’s days spent in Arthur Road jail. He recalls this period as his most difficult time. The film depicts this chapter of his life and is based on a true story."
Talking about the film at the trailer launch event, Raj said, "The film is about my 63 days in the jail, from the day I entered that red gate to the day I came out. Shilpa and I believed that if there was even an ounce of truth in the allegations and if I was guilty then I would have my head hanging in shame. But I came out like a lion because I knew I had done no wrong. The matter is subjudice, we have full faith in the judiciary.”
