New Delhi: The portrayal of Zoya by Triptii Dimri in Animal has drawn notice. The misogynistic treatment of the ladies in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie was also criticised by many. Triptii has disclosed in an interview with Bollywood Hungama that her parents warned her she "shouldn't have done it" after they were "taken aback" by her much-discussed intimate scene with Ranbir Kapoor.

Speaking about how her parents reacted to her intimate scene in Animal, Triptii said, "My parents got a little taken aback. (They said) ‘We have never seen something like this in films and you have done it.’ It took them time to get over that scene. They were very sweet to me though. They were like, ‘You shouldn’t have done that… but it’s okay. As parents, we will obviously feel this.’”

The actor went on to say that she informed her parents that it was her duty as an actor to play that role as honestly as possible. She added further, "I told them I am not doing anything wrong. It’s my job and as long as I am comfortable and safe, I don’t see any problem in that. I am an actor and I have to be 100 percent honest with the character that I play and I did that."

Triptii has previously stated that she felt at ease during shoot and that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga informed her about every scene while discussing her role. The actor further disclosed that although she is aware that the moments have provoked discussion, people can also have a dark and selfish side.

In a scene from the movie Animal, Ranbir's character Rannvijay Singh, also known as Vijay, asks Triptii's character Zoya to lick his shoe as proof that she really loves him after it is revealed that she is a mole. While Triptii might not have licked the shoe, her character Zoya would have because she felt bad about using that person in the end.

The highest-grossing movie of Ranbir Kapoor's career at the box office is Animal. The toxic relationship between Rannvijay (Ranbir) and his father Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor) is depicted in the movie. Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol play significant parts as well.
