New Delhi: 'Tiger 3', starring Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan, has finished its first week of release. On Diwali, the action entertainer premiered in theaters. According to early estimates posted by Sacnilk.com, the movie took Rs 17 crore on Saturday. It made Rs 217.9 crore in its first week of business domestically.
'Tiger 3' had its theatrical release on Sunday, Diwali day, at Rs 44.5 crore. On Monday it went on to earn an incredible Rs 59.25 crore. It began to slow down in the days that followed, and on Friday it brought in the least amount of money in a single day—Rs 13.25 crore.
In an interview with India Today, Katrina said, “The love and support I have got from my family is just so special. Sham ji, my father-in-law, is a very senior action director, so he was the happiest to hear praises for Zoya’s action scenes."
The ABP Live review of the film read: The third installment turned out to be more engaging than 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai', even after an interminable flashback sequence. In fact, it wouldn't be a stretch to argue that Salman Khan has constantly rewarded his fans with the Tiger franchise. This time, he lived up to the hype unlike anyone else (for a non-Salman fan to say something like, it takes a lot.). His appeal is reinforced by a packed theater for an early show on the day of Diwali, but the film's performance can be gauged by the same crowd exiting feel content.
In Tiger 3, Salman Khan's super spy Avinash Singh Rathore, aka Tiger, teams up with Katrina as former ISI agent Zoya. Set after Pathaan's events, the Maneesh Sharma-directed film is a part of Yash Raj Films' spy universe. Emraan Hashmi joins the franchise as the main foe, and Shah Rukh Khan, as 'Pathaan', and Hrithik Roshan, as Kabir from 'War', make a brief cameo in the movie.
