The Tenant: Shamita Shetty BACK in films after almost 11 years!
Mumbai: Actress Shilpa Shetty's sister Shamita Shetty is all set to be back in films after more than a decade. She is excited about her next film "The Tenant", which will be helmed by Sushrut Jain.

Set in India, "The Tenant" is written by Jain, who traces his roots to India. He is settled in Los Angeles.

Touted as an international project, "The Tenant" is about a woman with a mysterious past. Shamita will be seen playing the lead role of the woman whose arrival in a middle class housing society causes a stir.

"I have started with the workshop and I am absolutely loving it. This is such a learning curve. I am looking forward to starting the shoot," Shamita said in a statement to IANS.
The actress, who was last seen in web series "Yo Ke Hua Bro", will start shooting for the project later this month. The shooting will go on till May.

Shamita made her Bollywood debut with Aditya Chopra's film 'Mohabbatein' in 2000 after which she featured in various films like 'Saathiya', 'Fareb', 'Zeher' among others but failed to make it big. Also known for hit item numbers like "Sharara Sharara" and "Chori Pe Chori", Shamita's last Bollywood film in a full-fledged role was 'Cash' opposite Ajay Devgn in 2007. After which, she made special appearances in 'Heyy Babyy' and 'Hari Puttar' in the same year.
After that she also appeared as contestant in popular reality shows like 'Bigg Boss 3' and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8'.
