The film stars Kareena as a detective tasked with unraveling the mystery behind the murder of a 10-year-old boy in the serene yet troubled setting of Buckinghamshire.

The trailer was shared with the caption, "Iss kahaani mein sab kuch hai - jhooth aur fareb bhi! How will Detective Bhamra navigate through all? #TheBuckinghamMurders Trailer Out Now. Only in cinemas on 13th September."

The trailer sets the stage with Kareena’s character, Jasmeet Bhamra, interrogating multiple suspects about their whereabouts on the evening of November 14. The death of a young boy has sparked tensions within the community, leading to the arrest of a Muslim teenager. Amidst the escalating suspicions, Detective Jasmeet Bhamra steps in to dig deeper into the case, determined to uncover the truth behind the tragic event. About The Buckingham Murders

'The Buckingham Murders' also stars Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. The screenplay is crafted by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker. Notably, this film marks Kareena Kapoor's debut as a producer, a project she co-produces alongside Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, and TBM Films. 

In a 2023 interview with Variety, Kareena had said that her character in The Buckingham Murders draws inspiration from Kate Winslet’s role in Mare of Easttown. "I love Mare of Easttown, and when Hansal approached me, I immediately knew this was the kind of role I had been waiting for. We’ve shaped my character along similar lines; she’s a detective cop, just like in the show," Kareena explained. 

The Buckingham Murders is set to hit theaters on September 13, 2024.
