'Thankan' is directed by Saheed Arafath with a star cast featuring Biju Menon, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Gireesh Kulkarni, and a number of Marathi, Hindi and Tamil actors.
New Delhi: The theatrical trailer of Malayalam movie 'Thankam' was released on Tuesday by acclaimed actor Fahadh Faasil, who is also producer of the film.
Faasil, who was recently seen in 'Pushpa: The Rise' and 'Vikram', released the trailer on his Facebook page, wishing the team success.
'Thankam' is directed by Saheed Arafath with a star cast featuring Biju Menon, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Gireesh Kulkarni, and a number of Marathi, Hindi and Tamil actors.
A middle-aged man named Muthu, played by Biju Menon, an unreliable young man, played by Vineeth Sreenivasan, and a few other main characters are the focus of the crime drama's incredibly exciting teaser. It is clear from the trailer that Thankam is a well designed crime story that follows the journey of "Thankam," also known as Gold. The story of a Maharashtra police squad looking into a Mallu crime in Tamil Nadu is alluded to in the trailer. While actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan's role appears to be richly detailed and performance-oriented, Biju Menon, who plays Muthu, is seen in yet another rooted character with shades of humour.
The National Award-winning actress Aparna Balamurali plays a crucial part as Vineeth's character's wife. Gireesh Kulkarni, best known for the films Dangal and Ugly, makes his South Indian film debut with this film. The thankam trailer has significantly raised expectations for the project, which is being written and directed by Syam Pushkaram, the writer of many critically acclaimed films including Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Kumbalangi Nights, and Joji, and is being directed by newcomer Saheed Arafath.

'Thankam' has been penned by national-award winning Syam Pushkaran, who had earlier scripted the much-acclaimed 'Maheshinte Prathikaram', 'Kumbalangi Nights' and 'JOJI'.
The movie marks the debut of Gireesh Kulkarni ('Dangal', 'Ugly') in a south Indian movie. The trailer shows Gireesh playing a Maharashtra police officer, who along with his team is investigating a case involving a Malayali in Tamil Nadu. The major part of the movie has been shot extensively in Tamil Nadu and Mumbai.
