New Delhi: Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, which released on January 10, has set the cash registers jingling. The period drama co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Kajol started on a flying note at the box office. The Om Raut directorial has entered the Rs 200 crore club on Friday (January 24).

‘Tanhaji’, which released along with Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chhapaak’, received good reviews from the critics and fans. While ‘Chhapaak’ has lagged behind in terms of numbers, ‘Tanhaji’ is going stronger despite facing competition from this week’s releases ‘Panga’ and ‘Street Dancer 3D’.

Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office collection of ‘Tanhaji’ On Twitter. He mentioned that the film will overtake the box office of ‘Golmaal Again’ to emerge as the highest grossing movie of Ajay Devgn’s career.

“#Tanhaji crosses ₹ 200 cr, shows no signs of fatigue... Continues to score, despite reduction of screens/shows + two prominent films hitting the marketplace... Will emerge #AjayDevgn’s highest grossing film today [Sat]... [Week 3] Fri 5.38 cr. Total: ₹ 202.83 cr. #India biz,” Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.


'Tanhaji' entered the Rs 200 crore club within fifteen days of release. The movie had collected Rs 100 crore on day six at the box office.


Ajay Devgn played the role of Maratha warrior Subedar Tanhaji Malusare in ‘Tanhaji’. Saif Ali Khan was seen as the antagonist Udaybhan Rathod, who fought against Shivaji and his army during the Battle of Sinhagad. Kajol essayed Ajay Devgn's on-screen wife Savitri Bai in the flick.
