'You Were Destined': Sushmita Sen Shares Appreciation Post For Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu

Former Miss Universe Sushmita said that she is super proud of Harnaaz Sandhu for 'bringing the back the crown' to India after 21 years.

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen shared an appreciation for post for Harnaaz Sandhu, who was crowned as Miss Universe 2021 at a grand event in Israel. The Bengali beauty, who was the first Indian to win the Miss Universe pageant, congratulated Sandhu on social media. She shared two photos of the 21-year-old along with a sweet note on her official Instagram handle. 

What Did Sushmita Sen Post? 

The ‘Main Hoon Na’ actress extend her warm wishes to Harnaaz Sandhu, her mother and family members while penning a note. She thanked Sandhu for representing the country ‘beautifully’ and bringing back the Miss Universe crown to India after 21 years. For the unversed, Lara Dutta had won the pageant in 2000.

Fans have flooded the comments section with their messages. One user wrote, "The way you appreciate everyone is just love" while another commented, "No other Miss Universe beats the Miss Universe 1994 ….. Period."

Lara Dutta also congratulated Harnaaz for winning the beauty pageant. "I’m overjoyed and thrilled at Harnaaz’s win at Miss Universe! She was a strong contender throughout and was an exemplary representative for India on the world stage! After 21 long years it’s a billion dreams come true! I wish her a glorious reign ahead and many great adventures as the new Miss Universe," Dutta said in a statement. 

The 'Bell Bottom' actress revealed that she spoke to Harnaaz before the gala event. Dutta penned a post for Sandhu and said that she was born in the same year when she was crowned as Miss Universe 2021.
