Sushant Singh Rajput Case: NCB Summons Rhea Chakraborty To Interrogate In Drugs Angle; Next Arrest In Row?

After taking Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, and Dipesh Sawant into the custody earlier this week, the Narcotics Control Bureau on Sunday summoned Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty to interrogate her in connection with the drugs angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The agency wants to question the 28-year-old actress in the case in which her brother Showik along with seven others has been arrested for offenses related to the supply of drugs. As quoted in media reports, an NCB official on Saturday has revealed that Rhea Chakraborty will be asked to join the investigation. Showik Chakraborty would be confronted with his sister to ‘clarify their individual role’. The summon has been issued after the NCB, which is probing the drug angle in Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, raided the house of Rhea Chakraborty and SSR's manager Samuel Miranda on Friday, September 4. After almost 10 long hours of interrogation, the agency arrested actress's brother Showik and Samuel Miranda under IPC sections 20 (B), 28 (counterfeit), 29, and 27 (A). Showik Chakraborty is under NCB custody till 9th September. Based on reports, Showik had confessed that Rhea asked him and Samuel Miranda to procure drugs. The NCB said that Showik Chakraborty, brother of Rhea Chakraborty, used to purchase ganja and marijuana from drug peddler Abdul Basit Parihar and make payments through a Google Pay account. Meanwhile, Satish Maneshinde, who is representing both Rhea and Showik said that the 'Jalebi' actress is "ready for arrest as it's witch-hunt." As quoted by news agency ANI, the actress's lawyer reportedly said, "Rhea Chakraborty is ready for arrest as it's a witch-hunt. If loving someone is a crime she'll face the consequences of her love. Being innocent she hasn't approached any court for an anticipatory bail in all cases foisted by Bihar Police with CBI, ED & NCB." Maneshinde had earlier told Metropolitan Magistrate Joshi that the brother-sister duo has never consumed drugs and they are ready to take a blood test.
