The Bombay High Court on Thursday (January 7) reserved its order on the application filed by late Sushant Singh Rajput's sisters, seeking to quash the FIR filed against them by Rhea Chakraborty. The court reserved the matter for judgement and asked the concerned parties to submit the written documents within a week.

The bench comprising Justices MS Karnik and SS Shinde observed that SSR was a 'sober, innocent and a good human being.' "One could make out from his face that he was innocent and sober. Everyone liked him in the MS Dhoni film," Justice Shinde said.



Vikas Singh, who appeared for Priyanka and Meetu Singh, argued before the court that the Telemedicine Practice guidelines allowed a doctor to prescribe medicines to someone after online consultation, a report in PTI said. He further said that the actor couldn't go for physical consultion due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Sushant Singh Rajput's Family Lawyer Tweets 'Justice Will Prevail'


Vikas Singh shared a post on social media after the hearing for the case filed by Sushant's sisters was concluded on Thursday evening. He tweeted that Rhea's FIR against SSR's sister is likely to get quashed.

"Hearing concluded in the SSR sisters matter. Justice will prevail. The FIR registered by Rhea likely to be quashed," Singh wrote on the micro-blogging site.



For the uninitiated, Rhea Chakraborty had filed an FIR against Sushant's sister and a doctor, accusing them of prescribing medicine to the 'Chhichhore' actor without consultation. In her complaint, the actress alleged that Sushant died within five days after obtaining the prescription. She further said that sisters and the doctor made a 'fabricated prescription' for anti-depressants for the actor.

The 'Raabta' star's sisters had filed a plea in the Bombay High Court to dismiss the FIR registered against them at Bandra Police station.

Sushant was found dead at his apartment on June 14, 2020. His father KK Singh registered a complaint against Rhea, her family members and others under various sections of the IPC including abetment to suicide. The Central Bureau of Investigation, the Enforcement Directorate and the Narcotics Control Bureau are currently probing SSR's death case.

The NCB had arrested Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty for allegedly procuring and financing drugs for Sushant under various provisions of the NDPS Act. The Bombay HC granted bail to Rhea in October 2020 on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. Her brother walked out of jail after staying behind the bars for close to three months.
