While, the whole industry including Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and others have been mourning the death of the ‘Padma Bhushan’ awardee, A.R. Rahman paid a musical tribute to the deceased soul remembering him as ‘The Voice of Victory, Love, Devotion, and Joy!’ The ‘Dil Se’ composer made a small video of 32 seconds celebrating the ‘Pehla Pehla Pyar Hai’ singer.
After the news of his passing away broke out, A.R. Rahman took to his Twitter and expressing his grief, he wrote ‘#ripspb ...Devastated’
Also, when the late singer was admitted to the hospital, the ‘Rang De Basanti’ composer requested all the music fans to pray for the legend along with him. Rahman tweeted, “I request all the music fans to pray for this legend along with me ..#SPBalasubrahmanyam ..he has given us so much joy with his amazing voice!”
A.R. Rahman and SP Balasubrahmanyam have collaborated and have worked in many projects together giving us some of the most legendary musical numbers of all times. Some of the most popular songs include ‘Yeh Haseen Waadiyan’, ‘Anjali Anjali’, ‘Vellimalare’, ‘Kadalenum’, ‘Azhagana Rakshasiyea’, ‘Swasamae’, ‘July Matham’, ‘Minnale Nee’, ‘Thoda Thoda’ and many more.
Besides being a fantastic singer, SPB was also a music director, an actor, and a producer. He is survived by his wife Savitri, daughter Pallavi and son SP Charan, who is also a singer and a producer.
