However, before testing positive for COVID-19, the veteran singer who recorded 40,000 songs in 16 languages, composed and sung a Tamil song to create awareness about the novel coronavirus. The lyrics of the song penned down by renowned lyricist Vairamuthu is brimming with confidence that humanity will win over the pandemic.

SP Balasubrahmanyam said months ago, “I composed this number. Let us listen to this... it is not more musical, it is more lyrical.”

The late singer urged his fans to pay attention to the depth and import of the words and act accordingly to help prevent the virus in his video of more than 3 minutes. The song named ‘Corona Corona’ throws light on the fact that though the virus is smaller than an atom in size, it is deadly like an atom bomb that infects people stealthily.

The presentation of the SP Balasubrahmanyam in the song also spells out about the importance of no physical contact, following hygiene, and other aspects aimed at avoiding the spread of COVID-19.

Just like his song which is giving out the message that the human race will eventually win over the COVID-19 pandemic, the ‘Paadum Nila’ was also confident that he would beat the virus after he tested positive for it. He eventually did beat the virus on September 8 but succumbed to a cardio-respiratory arrest yesterday.
