Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday gave a new angle to the on-going Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case by saying that the late actor had strained relations with his father KK Singh.

Raut, who is the associate editor of party’s editorial mouthpiece Saamana, said that the Bollywood actor was not on good terms with his father, he alleged that KK Singh’s second marriage was “not acceptable” to the late actor.

Sanjay Raut also questioned the actor’s relationship with his family and even asked why he split from former flame Ankita Lokhande. Stating that his former girlfriend should also be a part of the probe, he said that it was “wrong to see the unfortunate suicide from a political angle.”

However, according to reports, the actor's uncle dismissed the claims stating that Sushant’s father did not marry again and that the politician was "misinformed”.

On a related note, Sushant's mother passed away in 2002. The actor was said to be extremely close to his mother, in-fact his last social media post was a dedication of love to his mother.

In an exclusive conversation with ABP correspondent Neeraj Pandey, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut also attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for "politicising" the Sushant Singh Rajput case by linking a state minister for alleged political gains.

Previously, in another editorial on the case, Raut had slammed the Centre for handing over the Sushant Singh Rajput death case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He said that the decision has been taken for political gains and as part of pressure tactics.

In his weekly column Rokhthok last week, Raut said that the decision of handing over the investigation is an attack on the state’s autonomy.
