Popular 90s Bollywood villain Mahesh Anand, last seen in Rangeela Raja, passes away

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Mahesh Anand, well known for playing the baddie henchmen in films like ‘Kurukshetra’, ‘Vishwatma’ and ‘Shahenshah’, has passed away on Saturday (February 9) in Mumbai. He was 57. The talented actor was a prominent face in the mainstream Hindi cinema during the 80s and 90s. He had worked with the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. Mahesh, who portrayed villainous characters on the silver screen, was going through a financial crisis. The ‘Vijeta’ actor, while talking to an entertainment portal, had revealed that he took part in wrestling matches to make a living. He also said that he didn’t have any films for the past 18 years till Pahlaj Nihalani signed him for ‘Rangeela Raja’. The actor was last seen in the Govinda starrer which released on January 18 this year. Anand had informed his fans about 'Rangeela Raja' on Facebook. He wrote, ''im happy after 18 years i had onne movie released today,,,,rangeela raja,,,,,,,, i am just therefor 6 minutes in the end,,, hope you all will welcome me back.'' Mahesh's former wife Usha Bachani told an entertainment portal that she was unaware of his death. “I was unaware that he passed away, we are not in touch since 2002,'' the actress told PeepingMoon. According to a report in ANI, the actor was found dead in a decomposed state in his home. The body was sent to the Cooper hospital for post-mortem. Bollywood recently lost another veteran actor Pappu Polyester aka Syed Badr-ul Hasan Khan Bahadur. He was part of films like ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’ and ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’.
