Shah Rukh Khan To Work With 'Stree 2' Director Amar Kaushik For An Adventure Film After King? What We Know

Reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan has finalized two major action films: 'King', directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and 'Pathaan 2', part of the YRF Spy Universe.

In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan dominated the box office with his three blockbuster releases—'Pathaan', 'Jawan', and 'Dunki'—which collectively grossed around Rs 2,500 crore worldwide. Since then, there has been a great deal of anticipation surrounding his upcoming projects. Reports suggest that he has finalized two major action films: 'King', directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and 'Pathaan 2', part of the YRF Spy Universe.

SRK to work with Stree 2 director?

Additionally, sources reveal that Shah Rukh is aiming to finalize a three-film lineup before starting work on 'King'. He is currently reviewing scripts and seeking a project outside of the action genre. Ongoing discussions are reportedly happening with Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan for a high-profile adventure film.

A source close to the development shared, “Shah Rukh Khan has met with almost every filmmaker in recent months, listening to the ideas they’ve pitched. However, nothing has truly excited him yet. Now, he’s in talks with Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan, the team behind 'Stree 2'.”

The source mentioned that Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan are working on a big adventure film for Shah Rukh Khan, potentially marking a new partnership. This film would not be connected to the 'Stree' Universe but would launch a new one. Though they have had a few meetings, Shah Rukh has yet to make a final decision.

“Amar and Dinoo are developing a large-scale adventure film for SRK and are exploring the possibility of collaborating. While it’s not part of the 'Stree' Universe, it could be the start of something new. Two or three meetings have already taken place, but Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t decided yet. More discussions are expected in the coming months before he makes a final call. Besides this, SRK is also in touch with Raj and DK for a comic action thriller, as he has connected with the subject but wants to iron out some script details. He’s also in talks with some filmmakers from the South for action films, though nothing is confirmed,” the source added.

The source further revealed that SRK is contemplating a commercial film to fit between his two major action projects. “With the shoot schedules for 'King' and 'Pathaan 2' already planned, SRK is exploring the possibility of fitting a new-age commercial film in between these action-packed projects. He’s expected to make a decision on whether to collaborate with Amar Kaushik, Raj & DK, or pursue another project by the end of this year.”

Meanwhile, director Amar Kaushik is enjoying the success of 'Stree 2', starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, which is nearing Rs 600 crore in total box office collections.
