New Delhi: The eagerly anticipated Shah Rukh Khan's movie 'Dunki' was originally set to be out in December, but there have been fresh reports that it might be postponed to prevent it from clashing with Prabhas' 'Salaar'. While there have been rumours about Rajkumar Hirani's directorial release, it has officially been confirmed that there will be no delay in the release and the movie will be premiered on Christmas weekend in 2023.

At a previous press event for his most recent film, 'Jawan', Shah Rukh Khan had already stated the same. Speaking about his film premieres on national holidays, he noted that 'Pathaan' was released on Republic Day, 'Jawan' was released on Janmashtami, and 'Dunki' will be released on Christmas.

After film industry analyst Manobala Vijayabalan shared an update about Dunki on Twitter (X), rumours about its release date began to circulate.

"Buzz: #SalaarVsDunki X #ShahRukhKhan's #Dunki likely to get POSTPONED. #Prabhas' #Salaar to get a SOLO record release." On X, film news page Lets Cinema wrote, "Reports suggest, #Dunki might get postponed from December 22nd due to delayed post-production timelines. Awaiting on official confirmation," he wrote.

Salaar's planned release date was put off because of several technical issues. It was previously scheduled for release on September 28. The film will now be released on December 22. 'Salaar', which is touted as an action thriller, is Prashanth Neel and Prabhas' first collaborative project. The film also stars Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumarn in the lead roles.

On the other hand, 'Dunki', starring Taapsee Pannu, will be Shah Rukh Khan's third film to be released in 2023. The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani from a script he co-wrote with Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon.
