New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan opened to a thunderous response with audiences thronging into theatres across the country. The film is all set to become the biggest Hindi film opener of all time with an expected collection of around Rs 73 crore. Reacting to the audiences’ reaction, SRK on Thursday said he is "overwhelmed" by the outpouring of love and promised fans that he would take time out to thank them for watching his latest film in cinema halls.
"Wow have to take time out and thank each and every Fan Club and all of you who have gone so happily in the theatres and even outside. So overwhelmed will surely do the needful as soon as I get my breath back in a day or so. Uff!! Love u for loving #Jawan," Shah Rukh wrote on X, formerly called Twitter.

Videos are doing the rounds on social media, where fans are seen cheering outside and inside the theatres. A video shows the entire theatre dancing to ‘Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya’ from the film. Another clip shows confetti being thrown, cheering, whistling and screaming as SRK dances on the track.
A gigantic poster cut-out of Shah Rukh Khan can be seen in another clip outside a theatre and his fans are seen screaming their lungs out for their favourite actor.
The Atlee directorial is getting rave reviews from moviegoers and critics alike. The film is termed as a masala entertainer with high-octane stunts and a politically charged narrative.
Ahead of the film’s release, #BoycottJawan trended on social media for a while with some users calling for the film's boycott because it is distributed by Red Giant Movies in Tamil Nadu. The company is owned by Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who has courted massive controversy for his comments against Sanatan Dharma. The controversy, however, didn’t appear to gather much momentum.
Released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, ‘Jawan’ outlines "the emotional journey of a man who is set to rectify the wrongs in the society". It also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
Produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma, the film also features Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover. It also features Deepika Padukone in a special appearance.
