New Delhi: Samantha Ruth Prabhu's mythological film 'Shaakuntalam', based on the poem Abhijnana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa, was released on April 14. The epic love tale of Shakuntala and King Dushyant, played by Samantha and Dev Mohan, respectively, drives the plot of the movie.
Samantha's fans have praised the movie in the early reviews that have been posted on Twitter. Many people called the actor's work in the movie and dubbed it one of her best performances. Although some have praised the VFX and CGI, several critics have remarked that they fell short of what was depicted in the trailer.
Trade analyst and film critic Ramesh Bala tweeted, "The entire cast of #Shaakuntalam truly brings to life the world of the mythological story and especially the lead, #SamanthaRuthPrabhu- what performance! She has also dubbed in Hindi herself for the first time with this one, and it is sure to strengthen her connect and hold in the Hindi markets as well! Well done."
