Sara Ali Khan Opens Up On Her Parents Saif-Amrita's Separation: 'It Was The Best Decision At That Time'
Sara Ali Khan's parents Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh parted ways after thirteen years of marriage.
Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan has managed to win the hearts of the audience in a short time. While other actresses shy away from discussing things related to their personal life, Sara has often talked about her struggle with PCOD and her parents' separation.
Sara, while appearing on VOOT's 'Feet Up With The Stars', spoke about her parents' divorce. She said, "It's very simple. If you see there are two options. Either live in the same house where no one is happy or live separately, where everyone is happy with their own lives."
The 'Simmba' actress also talked about her mother Amrita Singh and said that she 'means the world to her'. She added that her parents were not happy together and hence, they opted to part ways on a good note, which she considers 'the best decision'.
"I live with my mother. She's my best friend and means everything to me. I have a father too who is always available on the phone, and I can meet him whenever I want. I don't think they were happy together ultimately, so I guess to separate was the best decision to make at the time," Sara said as quoted as saying by SpotboyE.
Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh got divorced with mutual consent after 13 years of marriage. They former couple, who got hitched in 1991, is parents to Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi. Amrita Singh was handed over the custody of their two children after the divorce.
Saif tied the knot with Kareena Kapoor in 2012 after dating her for few years. They welcomed their first child Taimur Ali Khan in December 2016. Saifeena, as fondly called by fans, were blessed with their second son on February 21, 2021.
Although, Bebo and Saif are yet to reveal their newborn son's name, Randhir Kapoor has confirmed that they have named him Jeh Ali Khan.
