Mumbai: Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who announced her split from husband Naga Chaitanya, shared a post on social media to refute the 'false rumours' about her. The South actress appreciated her well-wishers for supporting her amid the personal crisis and thanked them for showing empathy and concern. She expressed her gratitude towards her fans for defending her against the rumours and stories that have spread like wildfire after she parted ways with Chaitanya.

Speculations about the reason behind Samantha-Naga Chaitanya's split have been rife ever since they confirmed that they are no longer together. The ‘Jaanu’ actress rubbished the rumours which suggested that ‘infidelity and abortion’ led to her divorce.
Samantha said that divorce is a painful process while sharing a note on Instagram story and Twitter handle. She said, “Your emotional investment into a personal crisis has overwhelmed me. Thank you all for showing deep empathy, concern and for defending me against false rumours and stories that are being spread. They say I had affairs, never wanted children, that I am an opportunist and now that I have had abortions.”
The Tollywood star promised that she won’t get affected by the accusations and rumours. She added, “A divorce in itself is an extremely painful process. Let alone allowing me the time to heal. This attack on me personally, has been relentless. But I promise you this, I will never allow this or anything else they say, break me.”
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya parted ways after four years of marriage. Their separation set several tongues wagging as they were considered one of the most loved couples in tinsel town.
In their statement, they said that they decided to go separate ways after much deliberation. The estanged couple had requested the fans to respect their privacy; however, gossip mills continued to remain abuzz with rumours.
“To all our well wishers. After much deliberation and thought Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thank you for your support,” Samantha's statement read.
The former couple got married in October 2017 according to Hindu and Christian rituals in Goa.
On the professional front, Samantha was last seen in 'The Family Man 2'. She made her digital debut with the web series starring Manoj Bajpayee in a lead role.
