Parineeti Chopra will be seen playing Indian Badminton star Saina Nehwal in her biopic.
Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra took to social media to share a heartfelt post for Indian Badminton star Saina Nehwal, who turned 31 on Wednesday (March 17). Parineeti, who is essaying the role of the ace shuttler in her biopic ‘Saina’, hoped to make her proud with the upcoming film.
“My champion, and my muse! Trying to become you for the last 2 years was my biggest honour ... Happy bdayyy SAINA! Hope we make you proud with your story,” Parineeti tweeted. The ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ actress said that it was her ‘biggest honour’ to step into her shoes for ‘Saina’. Check out her tweet!
Parineeti Chopra underwent an intense training to prepare for her role in ‘Saina’. She even attended a few sessions to get into the skin of her character. The ‘Ishaqzaaade’ actress shared a glimpse of her grueling training on her official Instagram handle. She wrote, “Shot in London, Mumbai and Thane. Thankyou Eshan, Vad sir and the entire badminton community for teaching me. I dedicate this film to you.”
The official trailer of ‘Saina’ was unveiled on March 8. The film’s trailer has received a massive response from the audience on different social media platforms. The sports drama also stars Meghna Malik, Eshan Naqvi and Manav Kaul in key roles. Movie buffs are quite excited about the movie as it will showcase the story of Saina, who became the first female Indian player attain the world no. 1 ranking in badminton.
‘Saina’, which has been directed by Amole Gupte, is slated to hit the silver screens on March 26, 2021. It was originally supposed to release in September 2020; however, it got delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis.
