New Delhi: The death of Sushant Singh Rajput is currently being investigated by three Central agencies – CBI, ED and NCB. In a recent development, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty under various sections of the NDPS Act. She has been taken to the Sion hospital for COVDI-19 test and will then be lodged at the women’s lockup in NCB office. Reportedly, the NCB will not seek remand of the ‘Jalebi’ actress.

Responding to the arrest of Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend, her lawyer claimed in a statement that this is ‘travesty of justice’. He further went on to add that 3 central agencies have been hounding her just because she was in love with a drug addict. The lawyer claimed in his statement that Sushant was suffering from mental health issues for several years and committed suicide.

The lawyer’s statement to ANI read, “Travesty of justice. 3 central agencies hounding a single woman just because she was in love with a drug addict who was suffering from mental health issues for several yrs & committed suicide due to consumption of illegally administered medicines, drugs”



On September 7, the ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ actress had lodged an FIR against Rajput’s sisters Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh, and a doctor from Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in Delhi in Mumbai’s Bandra Police station under several sections pertaining to forgery, abetment to suicide and cheating.

Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty has also been arrested by the NCB. Other than the brother-sister duo, the agency has also arrested Samuel Miranda, Dipesh Sawant and other drug peddlers till now.
