Karnataka Court Orders Cops To Register FIR Against Kangana Ranaut For Her 'Anti-Farmer' Tweet

A local court in Karnataka directed the inspector of Kyathasandra police station to register an FIR against Kangana Ranaut.

New Delhi: A local court in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district directed the police to register an FIR against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut for her tweet in which she allegedly targeted the farmers protesting against the farm laws, a report in PTI said. The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) court on Friday (October 9) ordered the inspector of Kyathasandra police station to register an FIR against the 'Panga' actress based on the complaint by a lawyer under section 156(3) of the CrPC. Kangana had shared a tweet on September 21, which read: "People who spread misinformation and rumours about CAA that caused riots are the same people who are now spreading misinformation about Farmers bill and causing terror in the nation, they are terrorists. You very well know what I said but simply like to spread misinformation." Karnataka Court Orders Cops To Register FIR Against Kangana Ranaut For Her 'Anti-Farmer' Tweet (Source- Twitter) L Ramesh Naik, who filed the complaint against Ranaut, told PTI said this particular tweet had hurt him. The 'Tanu Weds Manu' actress had denied addressing the farmers as 'terrorist' in another tweet. She said that she would apologize and quit Twitter if someone proved that her tweet was targeted at the farmers.
Talking about Kangana, the 'Manikarnika' actress has remained in limelight since few months. The National Award winning actress' tussle with Shiv Sena grabbed several eyeballs. The 'Fashion' star set several tongues wagging when she alleged that Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut threatened her and asked her not to return to Mumbai. Ahead of her arrival, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) team demolished parts of her property at Pali Hill.  The 'Queen' star had approached the Bombay High Court to stop the demolition drive. She later amended her petition and demanded Rs 2 crore as damage compensation from the civic body. The Bombay HC has reserved its verdict on the petition filed by Kangana against BMC's demolition drive. On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in 'Thalaivi'. She recently resumed work on her upcoming film in which she will be seen playing the role of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. (With inputs from PTI)
