Rani Mukerji To Star In 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway', B-Town's 'Khandala Girl' Announces New Film On Her Birthday

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji, known for her acting prowess, turned a year older on Sunday (March 21). Fans have been eagerly waiting to know about Rani’s upcoming project ever since she said that she would make an announcement on her 43rd birthday. The wait is finally over as Zee Studios has announced her new film titled ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’.

The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actress will be seen playing the role of a mother in the film, which will be helmed by Ashima Chibber. The upcoming flick has been inspired by real life events.

Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share an update about the film. He informed that the shooting would commence soon.

“RANI MUKERJI'S NEXT FILM... ZEE - EMMAY COLLABORATE... #Zee Studios and #Emmay Ent [Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, Nikkhil Advani] join hands to produce a new film... Starring #RaniMukerji... Titled #MrsChatterjeeVsNorway... Directed by Ashima Chibber... Filming will begin soon,” Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.

‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ will focus on a mother's battle against an entire country. "The film is an untold story about a journey of a mother's battle against an entire country that is inspired by true events," the official statement read.

Rani expressed her excitement on working with Nikhil Advani and Ashima Chibber. The ‘Hichki’ actress seemed confident about her new project and said, “This is a powerful story of a woman that needs to be told.”

“It is a story of true human resilience and it is a film that is dedicated to all the mothers out there,” she further said in a statement.

On the professional front, Rani Mukerji will be next seen in ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’. The film co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Siddhant Chaturvedi will hit the silver screens on April 23, 2021. The crime comedy drama will clash with Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Thalaivi’ at the box office.
