New Delhi: Junaid Shah, who grabbed eyeballs due to his uncanny resemblance with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, is no more. The Kashmiri model passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest on Friday (July 17). He took his last breathe at his residence in Srinagar. Ranbir Kapoor’s lookalike Junaid hit the headlines after his pictures went viral on social media because of his striking resemblance with the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actor.

Veteran journalist Yusuf Jameel took to Twitter to share the heartbreaking news. He said that Junaid left for his heavenly abode due to a massive cardiac arrest.

“Our old neighbor Nissar Ahmed Shah's son Junaid passed away due to massive cardiac arrest overnight. People say he was a lookalike of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor.I say he was a big hope, strength & salvation of his ailing father and his mother & that of whole Kashmir,” Jameel tweeted.



Junaid and his parents returned from Mumbai to Srinagar a month ago. The 28-year-old model was reportedly enrolled in Anupam Kher’s acting school.

“I'm told 28-year-old Junaid Shah and his parents had about a month back returned home from Mumbai where he would do modelling and was also reportedly enrolled in @AnupamPKher's school of acting. He had no history of heart ailment,” Yusuf further tweeted.



Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor, who passed away on April 30 after a two-year long battle with leukemia, had also tweeted about Junaid. The veteran actor had shared a collage picture of his son and Junaid on the micro-blogging site. His tweet read,"OMG. My own son has a double!!! Promise cannot make out. A good double."

Junaid's friends mourned his death on social media. One of his friends tweeted, "Today I lost my friend my neighbour Junaid Shah Left For heavenly abode. My heart goes out with the bereaved family. May Almighty Rest his soul in highest places of Jannah."



Junail was reportedly working on a web series. He also acted in Picture Factory's web series 'Love Lag Gaye'.We extend our deepest condolences to his family.



Talking about Ranbir Kapoor, the actor will be next seen in Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra' opposite his girlfriend Alia Bhatt.
