Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are currently filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious period love saga, Love & War, in Mumbai. The actors and production team have kept their looks under wraps, but on Wednesday, Zoom captured some fresh, unseen pictures showcasing their retro appearances for the film.

Leaked Pictures of Ranbir and Alia

The leaked images, now circulating widely on social media fan clubs, reveal Ranbir Kapoor dressed in a white shirt, blue trousers, and a matching blue tie. He sports slicked-back hair and a moustache, complementing his role as an Air Force pilot in this period drama.

Another picture features Alia Bhatt with a classic 1960s puffed hairdo, dressed in a white co-ord set inspired by the era. The pictures, shared on Reddit, drew comparisons to Ranbir’s look in Anurag Kashyap’s period drama Bombay Velvet.

One user commented, "Bombay Velvet vibes," while another remarked, “Alia in the last pic looks classic, Jacqueline Kennedy coded.”

The actors’ retro styles earned mixed reactions. Some praised their looks, with one fan writing, "Ngl I am gagged they are actually serving." However, others felt Alia’s look didn’t fully capture the era. A critical comment read, "Looks like a vintage old world romance, love how again Alia will look like a complete misfit in this as well."

About Love & War

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Love & War also stars Vicky Kaushal alongside Ranbir and Alia. The film is described as a love story set during wartime. While rumours suggested it might be a remake of Sangam, the classic featuring Raj Kapoor, Vyjanthimala, and Rajendra Kumar, Bhansali has denied this.

Speculation was fueled by reports of scenes filmed at an airbase in Jodhpur, echoing Sangam, where the leads portrayed Indian Air Force pilots. Love & War is scheduled to release on March 20, 2026.
