New Delhi: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who was hospitalized due to fluctuating blood pressure remained at Hyderabad's Apollo Hospital on Friday night. The hospital issued a medical bulletin to give an update about Rajinikanth's health. The doctors have given medications to the 'Kabali' star to control his blood pressure. The 70-year-old is stable and will undergo 'further investigations' tomorrow.

Rajinikanth's family members have requested his well-wishers to avoid visiting the superstar at the hospital as he is not allowed to meet any visitors.  Tamilisai Soundararajan, the governor of Telangana, spoke to the doctors at Apollo Hospital and enquired about the actor's health.

"Mr Rajinikanth is being monitored closely and medications to control his blood pressure are being carefully titrated. He will remain in the hospital tonight (Friday) and undergo further investigations tomorrow (Saturday). He is stable and is resting. Family and treating doctors have requested all well wishers to avoid visiting the hospital as he is not being allowed to meet any visitors. His daughter is with him. Governor of Telangana, called and spoke to the doctors and wished him a speedy recovery," the hospital said in its medical bulletin.

Rajinikanth had isolated himself after a few crew members of his upcoming film 'Annaatthe' tested positive for COVID-19. The '2.0' actor, who tested negative for virus, was admitted to the hospital for close monitoring of his fluctuating blood pressure.

Rajnikanth, who turned a year older on December 12, resumed the shoot of 'Annaatthe' last week. The shooting for the film co-starring Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh was halted after the crew members tested positive for Coronavirus. The makers of the highly anticipated flick took to social media to reveal that the shoot was suspended to ensure the safety of cast and crew.

Thalaiva's fans and well-wishers started praying for his recovery after the news of ill health circulated on the internet. Many fans extended their wishes to the actor on different social media platforms while others offered their prayers at different religious places.

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan also prayed for Rajinikanth's speedy recovery on Twitter.



On the career front, Rajinikanth was last seen in the movie 'Darbar', which hit the silver screens on January 9, 2020. The 'Petta' actor will launch his political party in January 2021. Several analysts are keeping a close watch on his next move as his entry in politics is expected to change the dynamics in Tamil Nadu.
