In an exclusive interview with ABP News, Shekhar Kapur, who has made acclaimed movies like Bandit Queen and Mr India, spoke a length about the father-daughter duo collaborating for the first time. You are an acclaimed International filmmaker, so how difficult or easy was it to direct your own daughter Kaveri Kapur in her new music video 'Smell Of The Rain'? Were you nervous? Very much, I was nervous as I was directing my daughter who has grown up in front of me but on the other hand she was so confident and was thorough professional in-front of the camera. Kaveri surprised me with her level of confidence and made it easy for me. She's already three song old, so how confident was she? Or was she getting nervous in front of her dad? Pretty much, she was not nervous at all. In-fact I was getting nervous at times as I have seen her growing up from little baby to a confident teen. But she is pretty confident about the song. Kaveri, who is currently studying music at Bostan, is very sure about her song's success and told me that she wants the world to know her as Kaveri Kapoor the songwriter and not Kaveri- daughter of filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor & Suchitra Krishnamoorthi. Who's idea was it? I have read somewhere you liked the song so much that you wanted to direct its video. Yes, I loved her song so much and wanted to direct it but I waited till she asked me to do. She came to me around six months back saying Dad I want you to direct my video and that's how it happened. Your latest series on ABP News Pradhanmantri is a quite talked about these days and is known for its in depth research and lot of homework, beti ko direct karne ke liye kya homework kia aapne? Bahut homework kia, humdono ne baith ke ek sath homework kiya( we did a lot of homework together) In-fact Jay Oza, DOP of Ranveer Singh's 'Gully Boy' also did a lot of homework with us and he too found Kaveri excellent in front of camera. The song is releasing tomorrow are you nervous how audience will receive it and what tips have you given to Kaveri? Off-course I am nervous as I know people will judge as for the first time her father is directing and how she has performed but as I told you Kaveri is pretty confident and is absolutely chilled. She is busy promoting the song on social media with her friends. Any plans of Kaveri, to join movie or become a director like her father? No, no she's into music. She has no interest in joining cinema as director. At the age of 19, she's quite confident about her career as songstress and is totally into it.Dropping at 00:00 hours tonight IST
