New Delhi: After receiving positive praise from critics, Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Jawan' has had a tremendous opening weekend at the box office. With a worldwide total of Rs 129 crore, the Atlee movie became the highest-grossing opener in Hindi cinema. However, many fans have noticed a striking connection between the plot of the action flick and the screenplay of another movie as the movie.

A lot of people on social media have made the case that the plot of 'Jawan' is extremely similar to that of the 1989 Tamil film 'Thaai Naadu'. Many users have gone on to argue that 'Jawan' has been lifted completely from the 1989 movie. An internet user stated that Atlee's storyline was adapted from 'Thaai Naadu', which starred Sathyaraj in a dual role similar to Shah Rukh's father and son figures in 'Jawan'.

"Jawaan Original Tamil Version - 1989," the user wrote.

Some people are alleging that the movie is a mash-up of several South films.

Deepika Padukone makes a special appearance in the pan-Indian movie, which is directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee and stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, and Ridhi Dogra are among the notable actors who appear in 'Jawan'. The film was released in cinemas in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
