New Delhi: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who was shooting for her upcoming film in Goa, has returned to Mumbai after she was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with the ongoing investigation into the alleged Bollywood drugs nexus. The ‘Padmaavat’ actress was accompanied by her husband Ranveer Singh, who reportedly flew to Goa from Bengaluru. The tinsel town arrived in Mumbai in a charter plane at 9.15pm.

Deepika was summoned by the NCB after her WhatsaApp chats with her manager Karishma Prakash came to the fore during the investigation. In the chats, the ‘Piku’ actress allegedly asked for ‘hash’ and ‘maal’ from her manager.

The ‘Tamasha’ actress will appear before the drugs law enforcement agency on Saturday (September 26). She was originally supposed to join the probe on Friday (September 25).



Apart from Deepika, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh have also been summoned by the NCB for questioning in the drugs case. Sara and Shraddha have also been called for interrogation on September 26.

Both Sara and Rakul have reached Mumbai after they were summoned by the NCB.  The 'De De Pyaar De' actress was asked to join the probe on Thursday; however, she will appear before the agency on Friday.

According to NCB sources, the Bollywood actresses were issued summons after their names surfaced in the WhatsApp chats accessed by the agency and during the questioning of Rhea Chakraborty.

The source further added the stars will be questioned about how and from whom they procured drugs. They will also be asked whether the drugs were meant for personal consumption or for something else.

Earlier in the day, the NCB officials grilled fashion designer Simone Khambatta in drugs angle related to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. She was interrogated for four hours in connection with the probe.
