Mission Mangal First Weekend Box Office Collection: Akshay Kumar & Vidya Balan's Film Sets Cash Registers Jingling

Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Mission Mangal' had an impressive first weekend box office collection.

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapse Pannu and Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Mission Mangal’, which released on August 15, is roaring at the box office. After getting a bumper opening of Rs 29.16 crore on the first day, the Jagan Shakti directorial collected Rs 17.28 crore and 23.58 crore on Friday and Saturday respectively. The film has continued the good run on Sunday and it minted Rs 27.54 crore, to take the total collection to Rs 97.56 crore. ‘Mission Mangal’ has emerged as a clear winner at the box office and it is expected to rake in big moolah. India biz,’’ Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site. 'Mission Mangal' has emerged as Akshay Kumar's biggest weekend opener till date. The film will enter the Rs 100 crore within five days of release. 'Mission Mangal' also featured Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles. The flick is based on the true story of India's mission to Mars and focuses on how a team of female scientists at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission.
