Mumbai: The birthday celebrations for Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon have already started as the makers of her upcoming film ‘Mimi’ have released the movie 4 days ahead of its actual release date. The movie which was supposed to release on Netflix and Jio Cinema on July 30, 2021, hit the OTT platforms a day before Kriti Sanon’s birthday on July 27.
The movie is based on the story of a surrogate mother (played by Kriti Sanon) to a foreign couple and her struggles when the real set of parents refuse to accept the child. Apart from the ‘Luka Chuppi’ actress, ‘Mimi’ also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak in pivotal roles.

On a related note, ‘Mimi’ is based on the National award-winning Marathi film ‘Mala Aai Vhhaychy!’ which highlights the growing surrogacy practices in India where our women are used by foreigners to be surrogate mothers. This award-winning Marathi movie has also been remade in Telugu in 2013.
Meanwhile, other than ‘Mimi’, Kriti Sanon will be next seen featuring in ‘Adipurush’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Bhediya’ and ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’. Pankaj Tripathi, on the other hand, will be seen starring in Ranveer Singh’s ‘83’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bachchan Pandey’.
