Mumbai: One of the most awaited movies of this month ‘Mimi’ released today. The movie was supposed to hit the OTT platforms Netflix and Jio Cinema on July 30, 2021, released ahead of its scheduled date as a surprise to the fans.


Film critic Taran Adarsh shared the news on his Twitter with a video of Pankaj Tripathi informing the viewers about its early release and the reason behind it. Taran wrote, “'MIMI' STREAMING ON NETFLIX & JIO CINEMA... #PankajTripathi and Team #Mimi bowl a googly at #KritiSanon... The birthday girl's film is now streaming on #JioCinema and #Netflix. #DineshVijan #JioStudios #LaxmanUtekar”.

Earlier today, Kriti Sanon teased her fans with a video on her Instagram revealing that she has a surprise for her fans. Well, the surprise has been finally revealed and viewers watch ‘Mimi’ on Netflix or Jio Cinema.

In this movie, Kriti Sanon will be seen portraying the role of a surrogate mother to a foreign couple. Helmed by the ‘Luka Chuppi’ director Laxman Utekar, this movie is based on the National award-winning Marathi film ‘Mala Aai Vhhaychy!’ which highlights the growing surrogacy practices in India where our women are used by foreigners to be surrogate mothers.


Other than Kriti Sanon, ‘Mimi’ also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak in pivotal roles.


Meanwhile, Kriti has a number of projects in her kitty. She will be next seen featuring in ‘Adipurush’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Bhediya’ and ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’.
