MayDay: Mumbai Police Books Crew Members Of Ajay Devgn's Film For Violating Coronavirus Rules: Report

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn is producing 'MayDay' under his home banner Ajay Devgn FFilms. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh.

Ajay Devgn’s ‘MayDay’ has been making waves ever since it was announced that the Bollywood star will reunite with Amitabh Bachchan for the film. Big B and Devgn, last seen together in ‘Satyagraha’, are working again after eight long years. Movie buffs are quite excited to see them together on the big screen. The cast and crew of ‘MayDay’ are currently busy shooting for the flick in Mumbai.

If a recent report in Mid-Day, is to be believed, crew members of the upcoming film were booked by Vasai Police for allegedly violating COVID-19 rules.

Police Inspector Bhausaheb Ahire, while talking to the leading daily, said that 15 people were not following the Coronavirus rules on the sets of the film. He added the crew members didn’t maintain social distancing, thus flouting the COVID-19 rules.

The police officials have registered a case under Sections 188 and 269 of the IPC, the report in the daily said. The cops also booked the crew members under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, the report added.

Ajay Devgn, who turned a year older on April 2, is directing ‘Mayday’. The film will mark the acting debut of popular YouTuber CarryMinati aka Ajey Nagar. The movie also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Aakanskha Singh and Angira Dhar in key roles.

Speculations are rife that Ajay Devgn would play the role of a pilot in ‘MayDay’. The makers have managed to keep the details about his character under wraps.

‘MayDay’ is slated to hit the silver screens on April 29, 2022. Ajay had announced the release date after starting the shoot in December 2020. He tweeted, “Happy to officially begin MayDay in a start-to-finish shooting schedule. Seek blessings from the Almighty and my parents. Nothing is complete without the support of all my fans, family and well-wishers. Releases on 29th April 2022.”

On a related note, the number of COVID-19 cases has witnessed a surge in the past few weeks. Many Bollywood celebs including Alia Bhatt, Kartik Aaryan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Milind Soman have recently tested positive for the virus.
