'Mukti Bhawan' & 'Titli' Actor Lalit Behl Passes Away Due To COVID-19

Lalit Behl, who was last seen in Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Judgementall Hai Kya', died due to COVID-19 complications.

The industry has lost another stalwart. Bollywood actor Lalit Bahl, who worked in films like ‘Mukti Bhawan’ and ‘Titli’, passed away on Friday (April 23) due to Coronavirus. He was 71. The talented actor, known for his acting prowess, took his last breathe at Delhi’s Apollo hospital.   

Lalit Behl’s son Kanu Bahl, who directed his father in 'Titli', confirmed the news of his demise. Kanu, while exclusively talking to ABP News, said “My dad was facing difficulty in breathing following which he underwent a COVID-19 test. The result came out as positive. We found out that his lungs were badly infected after he was admitted to the hospital. He was already suffering from heart ailments.”

Lalit Behl was hospitalized since the last 12 days. His wife had also tested positive for COVID-19. She underwent treatment at a different hospital. Kanu Bahl told ABP News, “My mother has recovered from the virus. She has been discharged from the hospital today." 

Lalit played the role of Adil Hussain’s father in ‘Mukti Bhawan’. The actor paid a tribute to his on-screen father and offered his condolence to Behl’s family on social media. 

He tweeted, “Extremely saddened by the demise of one of my dearest and most respected Co-actors, Lalit Behl jee. Who, so brilliantly played the father in @MuktiBhawan! I feel the loss of my father again! Dear Kanu I am so very sorry for your loss!” 

Lalit formed a theatre group at Kapurthala, Punjab with his friends. Apart from directing many plays, he also acted in numerous plays and serials. 

Lalit also wrote, directed and produced serials for different channels. On the professional front, he was last seen in ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’, which released in 2019. The movie starred Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles.  

The industry lost two talented artists in a span of two days. Music composer Shravan Rathod passed away on April 22 while actor Amit Mistry left for his heavenly abode on April 23 after suffering a cardiac arrest. The tinsel town celebs have mourned the deaths of the two on social media.
