The ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ actress was in tears minutes before her ‘paid in advance’ performance in 2012. Read on.
The Bollywood industry is going through a rollercoaster ride in the current time. There lies a sea of debates in the tinsel town and more people are coming out now speaking of their own experiences in the industry. But now, the debates are not only limited to celebrities speaking of their experiences, but a renowned senior journalist has also spoken up about his experience when he was in charge of an award show. Recently, the journalist took to his column and spilled some beans about the award shows.
The senior journalist lately took to his column and spoke his mind about the celebrities attending the award show. He wrote how people throw tantrum and get irked when they do not get awards. He also revealed how Karan Johar was displeased and Hrithik Roshan refused to accept an award for Best Actor. The actor was disappointed that his father, who was the director of the movie, did not receive any awards for the same.
The journalist further wrote about Katrina Kaif throwing tantrums at an award function back in 2012. The senior journalist had to go to her vanity van to plead her as the actress was almost in tears just minutes before her performance. She was paid fully in advance for that performance of hers. The ‘ZNMD’ actress told that she is always called at award shows for performing but never given any. The makers then had to invent the ‘Popular Choice Award’ category. He wrote, “In 2012, when Katrina Kaif was to perform, paid fully in advance, she threw a tantrum minutes before her performance as she wasn’t being given any award. I was taken to her vanity van to plead with her.”
Katrina was all dressed and painted up to perform. And then, the outburst. Why do they always call me but give me no awards? I said that was never the deal, you have a contract to perform. But by now, tears were streaming down her face, taking much of the make-up in their wake. Again, we invented a popular choice award," he added.
In his long column about Bollywood, he also wrote how he used to receive 'long, pained, hurtful' and 'boycott threats' calls from Karan Johar as his film ‘My Name Is Khan’ did not make it to the nominations.
