Karnataka Police registered the case against the 'Panga' actress in Tumakuru district on Monday (October 12) based on the order by a local court, which had directed the inspector of Kyathasandra police station to register an FIR against her. Lawyer L Ramesh Naik, who had filed the complaint against Kangana, contended that her tweet on September 21 had hurt him.

"People who spread misinformation and rumours about CAA that caused riots are the same people who are now spreading misinformation about farmers bill and causing terror in the nation, they are terrorists. You very well know what I said but simply like to spread misinformation," Kangana's tweet read.

Kangana had denied addressing the farmers as 'terrorist' in another tweet. The 'Queen' star said that she would apologize and quit Twitter if it is proved that her tweet was targeted at the farmers.

Kangana Ranaut has been hogging all the limelight since the past two months. Her tussle with Shiv Sena and its leader Sanjay Raut grabbed all headlines in September 2020. The 'Manikarnika' actress arrived in Mumbai on September 9 amid protests from Shiv Sena activists at the airport. She was provided Y-plus security after her parents requested the State government to grant her security following her spat with Sanjay Raut.

Ahead of her visit to Mumbai, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) team demolished parts of her Pali Hill bungalow citing 'illegal alterations'. She approached the Bombay High Court to stop the demolition drive. The actress amended her petition and demanded Rs 2 crore from the civic body as compensation. The court has reserved its verdict on the petition filed by her against BMC's demolition drive.

Earlier in the day, Kangana shared photos of the mails and idols she received from her fans. She said that her fans and friends were 'pained to see the demolition' of her Mumbai bungalow.

"My fans/friends were pained to see the illegal demolition of my house, this collective gesture of theirs has moved me, these idols will enhance the beauty and divinity of my temple which was brutally broken will always remind me there is more kindness in the world than cruelty," Kangana tweeted.

On the professional front, Kangana will be next seen in 'Thalaivi'.
