Kangana Ranaut to play a Gujju NRI in Hansal Mehta’s next Simran
Kangana Ranaut is gearing up to play the role of a Gujarati NRI in Hansal Mehta's next ''Simran''. Kangana's character in the movie is said to struggling with the American cultural cosmopolitanism. Director Hansal Mehta has lined up 15 evergreen mainstream Gujarati films for Kangana so that she can watch them and prepare for the role.
Hansal states, “We’ll be watching very successful commercial Gujarati films, so that Kangana gets a hang of the milieu and accent. We’ll also be catching Gujarati plays for which we’ll travel to Ahmedabad and Bangalore.” The director wants the actress to get the perfect body language, accent and attitude of a Gujju Ben in America.
The Aligarh famed director added, “I want to do a light-hearted fun film. We’re going to have a ball with this one. We’re shooting the film all over the US in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco and Atlanta.” Sounds like an all-expense paid holiday for the director and his leading lady.
