Kangana Ranaut Gets Bail In Javed Akhtar Defamation Case

Reportedly, Andheri Magistrate Court in Mumbai has granted bail to Kangana Ranaut in the defamation case filed against her by famous lyricist Javed Akhtar. Read on to know full details.

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut has been embroiled in controversies for a long time now. The ‘Thalaivi’ actress, who has been awarded the National Award for Best Actress for the fourth time, has been granted bail by the court in Javed Akhtar’s defamation case against her.

Reportedly, Andheri Magistrate Court in Mumbai has granted bail to Kangana Ranaut in the defamation case filed against her by famous lyricist Javed Akhtar. According to a report of ANI, the ‘Manikarnika’ actress has appeared before the court today where she sought the cancellation of the bailable warrant issued against her.

A report of ANI reads, “Mumbai: Andheri Magistrate court grants bail to Kangana Ranaut in Javed Akhtar defamation matter. She had appeared before court today and had sought cancellation of the bailable warrant issued against her. She had also applied for bail which was allowed by the court.”

The bailable warrant was issued against the ‘Fashion’ actress after she failed to appear before the court despite being summoned earlier this month.

Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut claiming that her statement that Akhtar was part of a ‘Bollywood suicide gang’ who could ‘get away with anything’ has damaged his reputation. Kangana said this statement in one of her interviews. He further claimed that the statements made against him are baseless and false.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, the trailer of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming biopic on J Jayalalithaa ‘Thalaivi’, has been garnering lots of praise. Ranaut also has ‘Dhaakad’ and ‘Tejas’ in her kitty.
