New Delhi: Joseph R Biden has defeated 45th President Donald Trump to become the 46th President of the United States. Before elections, Biden nominated Kamala Harris for Vice President and chose her as his running mate. As Joe Biden’s democratic party won, Harris is set to create history and shatter the glass ceiling by becoming the first-ever woman Vice President of colour in the nation’s 244-year existence.

Many Bollywood celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Nimrat Kaur, Kajal Aggarwal, Abhay Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, and others took to their social media to congratulate Biden and Harris on their victory.
Recently, Kangana Ranaut also took to her Twitter and congratulated the first-ever woman Vice President of the United States saying that ‘when a woman rises, she makes the way for every woman’. The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ also compared Joe Biden to Aamir Khan’s popular character ‘Ghajini’ and said that ‘he won’t last a year’.
The ‘Tejas’ actress’ tweet read, “Not sure about Gajni Biden who’s data crashes every 5 minutes, all the medicines they have injected into him he won’t last more than a year, clearly, Kamala Harris will run the show. When one woman rises, she makes the way for every woman. Cheers to this historic day”
Joe Biden issued a statement after winning the elections. He said, "America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me."
Kamala Harris also told supporters that the ‘hard work’ was yet to come after the election, pointing to the agenda she and President-elect Joe Biden hoped to accomplish. She further highlighted the ‘essential work’ to beat the COVID-19 pandemic. Kamala said, “The road will not be easy. But America is ready. And so are Joe and I.”
