New Delhi: It seems like Shah Rukh Khan’s film can never go wrong. The release of ‘Jawan’ on September 7 was met with unprecedented levels of excitement, and the film will now go down in film history. The Atlee-helmed action thriller had the best opening day of any Hindi film in Indian box office history, even surpassing SRK's own ‘Pathaan’. It has been reported that the SRK-starring film made an incredible Rs 75 crore in India and it film grossed about Rs 150 crore over the globe.
Sacnlk.com, a website that keeps tabs on the movie industry, reports that the Hindi version of the action-packed film made Rs 65 crore, breaking the previous record set by Shah Rukh Khan in January of this year with ‘Pathaan’. On its first day in theatres, the Siddharth Anand film starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and others made Rs 55 crore.
On its opening day, ‘Jawan’ earned over Rs 75 crore, with the Hindi version contributing around Rs 65 crore and the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions contributing around Rs 10 crore.
On Thursday, the film's Hindi version had an average occupancy of 58.67 per cent. The occupancy rate was highest (81%) in Chennai.
Meanwhile, trade expert Ramesh Bala said on X (previously Twitter) that ‘Jawan’ is projected to earn Rs 150 crore or more on its launch day over the globe."
