It's not that Bollywood won't happen for me: Tannishtha
Lonavla: For actress Tannishtha Chatterjee, who has showcased her acting mettle in offbeat Indian as well as foreign projects, it's a case of never say never for an out-and-out Bollywood project.
At the Lonavla International Film Festival India (LIFFI), where two of her films -- "Rough Book" and the recently released "UnIndian" are being screened -- Tannishtha spoke about her projects and plans in a question and answer session.
Asked why she has yet not done a typical Bollywood potboiler yet, she said: "It's just that when I started, I got work and I kept doing that work. Perhaps, I also didn't go and ask people for work. A lot of times I was travelling or didn't have dates... But it's not like Bollywood will not happen.
"It might happen with roles that I can do justice to as an actor and with roles that do justice to my acting."
Having worked in films like "Brick Lane", "Road, Movie", "Dekhi Indian Circus", "Anna Karenina", "Gulab Gang", "Angry Indian Goddesses" and more, she says she has seen exciting times in her career with different roles in movies of varied genres.
"I've worked in British, French, American films, Hindi films and Marathi too...Now I also have a biopic in hand. So, it's great," said the acclaimed actress, who is doing a doing a biopic of the first woman doctor in the country, Dr. Rakhmabai.
Her film "UnIndian", which featured Australian cricketer Brett Lee, released recently, but her latest release has been "Island City". "Parched" will release soon.
