'Gulabo Sitabo' TRAILER: Amitabh Bachchan & Ayushmann Khurrana's Comedy Drama Promises To Tickle Your Funny Bone

Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana engaged in a quirky banter in the trailer of 'Gulabo Sitabo' while settling a land dispute.

New Delhi: Movie buffs have been eagerly waiting for ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ ever since it was announced that Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana will team up for the film. The first look posters of the two talented actors had created a lot of buzz and the makers have now finally unveiled the film’s trailer on Friday (May 22). The comedy drama focuses on the story of a tenant ‘Baankey’ (Ayushmann) and a landlord ‘Mirza’ (Amitabh Bachchan). A quick glance at the trailer is enough to make you realize that their Jodi is like Tom and Jerry. The film puts spotlight on the two unique characters, who foster a different kind of bond despite their banter. The over 2:30 minutes long trailer starts off with a cute fight between Mirza and Baankey. Guess what? The fight is over the rent of an old building. Amitabh Bachchan steales the show as the Mirza, the landlord of an old depleted 'haveli' in the city of Nawabs- Lucknow. Ayushmann Khurrana, last seen in ‘Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan, looks convincing as the shrewd tenant, Baankey. Their witty banter will definitely tickle your funny bone. Mirza decides to sell the house when Baankey refuses to pay the rent. However, there is a twist in tale. While Mirza is determined to make the deal and sell his house, Baankey is on a mission to foil his plans. Who will win the game?

‘Gulabo Sitabo’ has been written by Juhi Chaturvedi while ‘Piku’ director Shoojit Sircar has directed it. The much-awaited film will premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime on June 12. The makers of the movie decided to release the film digitally due to the COVID-19 crisis. ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ also stars Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala and Farrukh Jaffar in key roles.
