Audiences had been eagerly awaiting to winess Tara Singh's hardcore action sequences on the silver screen after 22 years. The lead cast of the film: Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and their son Utkarsh Sharma reprise their roles in 'Gadar 2', based on the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
The movie has already set a record for advance booking with more than 1.3 lakh seats sold.
According to a tweet from film industry expert Taran Adarsh, "Gadar 2" has apparently sold an outstanding amount of tickets.
Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' is currently selling more advance tickets than 'Pathaan', the year's biggest blockbuster, starring Shah Rukh Khan.
With the premiere of "Gadar 2," Sunny is making a long-awaited comeback to the big screen, and he is doing everything in his power to generate anticipation among moviegoers. The actor recently discussed his thoughts on the "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" sequel in an interview.
Sunny was recently questioned whether he believed "Gadar 2" will be successful in this time period during an interview with Entertainment Live.
Sunny replied, “Chalne na chalne ki baat nhi hai, period ki baat hai. Hum thodi aaj ka period bata rhe hai. hum toh period bata rahe hai 1971. (It’s not about working or not working. It’s about the period. We are showing the period of 1971).”
‘Gadar 2’ is set in the middle of the chaotic 'Crush India Movement’ in 1971. The film depicts Tara Singh and Sakeena's legacy, with Tara Singh travelling to Pakistan to rescue their son Charan Jeet Singh (Utkrash Sharma), who was being held by the Pakistani Army.
Sunny added, “We are recreating 1971 not today. So, it has to be 1971 relatable.”
Gadar 2 is a sequel to the 2001 smash movie "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha," which was directed by Anil Sharma. Since the 1990s, this movie has had the second-most Hindi movie viewings in India. It eventually became the most successful Hindi movie since "Hum Aapke Hain Koun" (1994)!
