Mumbai: To honour all the fathers around the world, Father’s Day is observed every year on the third Sunday of June. This day is celebrated to mark fatherhood and the special paternal bonds. This is a day for the children and the father to bond and what’s better than binge-watching some of the greatest movies of Bollywood which celebrates fatherhood.
From ‘Chachi 420’ to ‘Angrezi Medium’, here is the list of 5 Bollywood movies one can binge-watch with their dad on the special occasion of ‘Father’s Day’.
Chachi 420 – This 1997 comedy film unveils the story of a father’s undying love for his child. Featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead role, ‘Chachi 420’ tells the story of a divorced man who crosses boundaries to meet his daughter (played by Fatima Sana Shaikh). The father dons the character of a female nanny for his daughter in order to spend time with her.
Drishyam – This 2015 film starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles is one of the best films of the Hindi film industry. The plot of the story revolves around a father who can do anything to save his children and his family from difficulties. The movie also stars Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta in pivotal roles.
Piku – Starring Deepika Padukone in the titular role of the protagonist, ‘Piku’ tells the story of a father-daughter relationship. This beautiful story also stresses the importance of how parents need care and love as they grow older. This movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in the lead roles.
Dangal – This 2016 biographical sports drama also celebrates the special father-daughter bond. The story beautifully portrays how a father becomes a superhero for the children and gives them wings to fly. Aamir Khan illustrated the role of the father in ‘Dangal’ and Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra played the roles of the daughters.
Angrezi Medium – This movie not only marked Irrfan Khan’s last on-screen appearance but also tells the story of a father’s unconditional love for his daughter. Starring Irrfan and Radhika Madan in the lead roles, ‘Angrezi Medium’ shows to what extent a father can go when it comes to the happiness of their children.
